Nanotoxicology Investigators Awarded $24 million Center Grant |
Andre Nel, Director of TSR&TP's Nanotoxicology Lead Campus at UCLA
has been awarded a $24 million National Science Foundation and U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency joint grant for the new
University of
California Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology (UC CEIN).
The Center includes a consortium of investigators at UC Los Angeles, UC Santa Barbara,
UC Davis, UC Riverside, and several other institutions. The TSR&TP lead
campus in Nanotoxicology was instrumental in bringing these investigators
together.

Nomura and Xia win 2008 Best Publications |
|
Two publications have been selected for the 2008 TSR&TP
Best Publication Awards:
Daniel Nomura's paper
Activation of the endocannabinoid system by
organophosphorus nerve agents, and Tian Xia's paper
Cationic Polystyrene
Nanosphere Toxicity Depends on Cell-Specific Endocytic and Mitochondrial
Injury Pathways. These publications were chosen from thirteen submissions
evaluated for originality, significance of the results, and the potential
for impact on the field of toxic substances.

2009 Symposium Set for Berkeley Marina May 1-2 |

The 2009 TSR&TP Research Symposium will be held May 1-2 at the Doubletree
Berkeley Marina hotel in Berkeley. A detailed agenda and registration
